Bio-Lence is a fully interactive story where you are responsible for shaping the future. To put it simply humans and the infected are attempting to destroy one another to gain total control of the city for their own reasons, and how it all pans out is down to you.
#1 - Bases and controlled buildings
The humans have control of The Red Fortress. This will be their defensive stronghold and is virtually impenetrable. Humans also have control of the City Hall and to a degree the Hospital, but venturing there is dangerous due to the vantage point the infected have from the roof of the nearby High School.
The infected have set up base in Washington Square Park. They have control of the city High School as previously mentioned, meaning they can see the majority of human activity around the Hospital from the roof. They also occupy the nearby water plant and have contaminated the water supply.
#2 - What you can do in DC
The game itself plays out with the use of your roleplaying ability, RPG attributes you'll find in your mini profile and a random attack percentage. Your primary goal is to survive, especially if you're human as there is currently no known cure for the Bio-Lence disease. You are free to do whatever you like however - stay in your respective 'safe zones' and simply make friends, become a scavenger and set up a shop to sell your finds, roam the streets looking for kills and personal trophies, become a 'doctor' of sorts, lead a gang... the possibilities are plentiful.
#3 - Earning attribute points
You earn attribute points by posting around the forum. The more you post the stronger you become, and then if you choose to fight you can do so. Fighting is relatively simple, as mentioned your roleplays are taken into account (adding to your bonus), as are your RPG attributes and any items you may have - they make up your Attacking of Defensive Bonus attribute (see chapter 5).
Level up - 100 posts
1 health point - 2 posts
1 strength point - 20 posts
1 defence point - 25 posts
1 dollar - 5 posts
#4 - Fighting
Attacking an opponent (or group of opponents) is relatively simple. Tommy Attacker is the attacker, lets say. He's decided to attack Ralph Defender so Tommy Attacker simply adds up his attack stat by looking in his mini-profile (which is 5 in this example) + his attacking bonus (3, he has a gun) + a roll of the dice. That's his total attacking score and the end of his post. TBC Ralph Defender.
Ralph Defender will then have the option to run away if he wants to. He can either say "Ralph looks for a dice roll above 5 to run" or "Ralph needs an odd number to run." If he manages that he doesn't have to fight (but automatically loses), but if he does have to fight he uses a similar formula as Tommy Attacker did - Defensive stat (as he's defending against Tommy) + defensive bonus + a roll of the dice.
Lets say Tommy Attackers total score is 9 and Ralph Defenders is 6. Tommy's got the higher score by 3, so he wins the fight and that's how much damage is done to Ralph. That number will be subtracted from his health, and if it reaches zero you can turn him infected if you wish to or take mercy on him, otherwise he escapes the fight with a loss on his record (and a win on yours).
You cannot use weapons in a fight unless they appear in your mini profile.
#5 - Other info (weapons etc)
This is a good opportunity to tell you what my role will be in all this. I'll play something like a narrator of sorts (that's about the only way I can describe it), for example if you find an item I'll post in your roleplay topic with something like "as you fumble in the darkness you discover a shotgun, this has been added to your inventory." Posts like that will be made entirely at random, but I'll be around. I'll also watch over battles to make sure they're fought fairly, and post at the end of each one with the results - for example if you've been held hostage or infected with the Bio-Lence disease.
Moving onto weapons, as mentioned they'll be added to your inventory if you find any and your bonus stat will be adjusted accordingly. They are as follows, with bonus stats included:
Hunting Knife: +1 attack
Handgun: +2 attack
Shotgun: +3 attack
Machine Gun: +5 attack
Army Helmet: +1 defence
Camouflage: +1 defence
Body Armour: +5 defence
Morphine Bottle: +5 health
First Aid Box: +10 health
Binoculars: Ability to see far into the distance from rooftops
There are many more weapons and items to find, these are just some of the more common ones.[rand=62062592916107381727881349190968448587511288232825040432047269493]
